Vintage Pearl {Giveaway}

*UPDATE* We have a winner, people. Mr. Random chose a man (my hubby will be proud)! Congrats to Dave HomeSchool Dad
While I’m bonding with my hubby this week, I thought y’all might enjoy a giveaway from one of my favorite Etsy stores!
Y’all know I love my hubby (even when he takes pictures of me sleeping with my mouth open).
How could I not? Especially when he comes up with stuff like this:
He contacted The Vintage Pearl and had her create this necklace for me:
You’re what works for me
(as in WFMW)
I’m glad I work for him. And I’m assuming he’s not referring to the laundry.
Erin did a fabulous job. I absolutely love her hand-stamped jewelry!
Today, she’s offering a reader a custom piece. Winner’s choice ($50 value)!
Visit her shop, tell me what you’d put on a custom piece, or even better, what your hubby would engrave on a necklace!!
This giveaway will end on Friday.
Kristen

    Enjoy your time away~!

i love her shop…so many cute things! if i won this, i'd definitely ask my husband to come up with something to engrave. i'm wanting a necklace that represents our family somehow, so i'd do initials or names or something.

    thanks!

    pendy says:

My husband would definitely engrave "to my sweet baboo, you know". Since we were teenagers and he couldn't tell me he loved me over the phone in front of his family :) he's said 'you know', even on the anniversary (34th) card he gave me yesterday! The sweet baboo is from the Peanuts comic strip, which we love.

  4. 4

My hubby would say "Can I keep you?" It's our thing… :)

  5. 5

Cup of Love is one of my favorites.

Let's see….what could my husband have engraved for me…

    You are my everything

or..do you think this will fit…

i'm sorry i have been so crabby while we are moving

    or

    love of my life

    or

    thanks for all you do

    :) Just a few ideas!

  6. 6

Love all her things! She has wonderful ideas! I'd love the kids names..but it would be interesting to see what my hubs would write!

Oh, that is GORGEOUS!!! I just asked my husband what he would engrave and I thought I knew what he would say…and I was right.

His immediate response: "you are my forever love".

This is a special phrase in our family b/c I wrote a poem for him before we were married and this is the final line.

  12. 12

She has so many beautiful things! If my husband had a necklace engraved for me, it would probably have a line from one of my favorite Shakespeare sonnets. He knows I value sentiment, but not too much cheese. :)

I really like the names around my heart necklace. Wow, she has so many nice things!

    happy summer!

  16. 16

I shudder to think what my hubby would have engraved. He goes between very romantic and very off color sense of humor at the drop of a hat. I would hate to catch him at the wrong time. I think I would do some sort of metal and pearl necklace that simply said "Blessed"

  17. 17
    Jenna says:

what beautiful work. I'd have her write "HARMONY"- the same thing that's engraved inside our wedding rings.

  18. 18

    Great giveaway!

My hubby would say "come waste your time with me" from the first song we danced to at our wedding. I would put the names of my sons on it.

  19. 19

How fun! My husband and I have been married 15 years also. I'd have engraved
    never

    Love your blog!

  20. 20

i would give it to my mom and have twisted family and then the family letters (RRNL) for my mom. its our family thing and she does a lot for us , so we usually try to get her engraved stuff because she likes that and it makes her smile.

    Thanks.

    Kim says:

My hubby would get me the Dainty names on a chain with my two boys names on it. I would tell him to get me the Names around my heart chain with all of my guys names on it. I love her work! The prices are great too!

  23. 23

    My hubby would get "SHMILY"
Which stands for "See How Much I Love You"
    :)

i would love to get my kids names on a names around my heart necklace

  25. 25
    Brooke says:

Oh, another good site!! I love her stuff! I've "added to my favorites". Hmmm *thinking*… I'm thinking my DH would prolly put "I could not ask for more" (Sara Evans song). I had it engraved on his wedding band and it was "our song" at the wedding.

  26. 26
    Dragonsinger says:

on a disc going around the edges, my hubby would put

    "the journey continues…"

On our first date, he gave me a rose with a card "A journey begins with a single step" :)

  27. 27
    Brigid says:

I love the "starlet"–I still wish on stars.

But also, I saw a necklace once that I wanted very much. It had two flaps. The outer one said nothing but had a cut-out square in the middle. Behind it you could see the word "be". If you lifted the flap, you can see that the flap hides the word "just." So the rear flap says "just be", and the front one means all you can see is "be".

  28. 28
    Amanda says:

I have got to say that your husband is super sweet for that one! Now, if I won….. I would love one with a heart and my kids names around it ~ if my husband ordered it he'd probably put something absolutely crazy that would make me laugh… which is why I love him!

  29. 29
    meg says:

I SO love them all. My fave is the mother of pearl on a disc. I'd put my kids names on them.

  30. 30

i would ABSOLUTELY get the chunky daisy chain bracelet. AAGH, Love it! and i'm pretty sure that if my husband chose the engraving he would pick "silly romantic boy". :)

  31. 31
    Arya says:

He would pick out the "names around my heart" and put "Imzadi forever" because that's what he had engraved in our wedding bands.

  32. 32
    Amanda says:

Oh I love Erin's shop and reading her blog. I love the fused flower necklace. I would put my daughter's initial on it and let her wear it.

LOOOVE this shop–her work is great!!

you ladies have some creative husbands..or maybe it is you….I need to steal the simple engraving of "Blessed."

  37. 37
    JanMary says:

    Lovely stuff

My dh may suggest – "Welcome to my world" which I say all the time, and is the name of my blog.

My kids might say "Is your room tidy?" because I say that all the time too!

    I would chose "Blessed"

  38. 38

I am quite impressed with your hubby too- that is a great gift with a very creative personalization.
I think I would choose "I have found the one whom my soul loves" from the Old Testament.
    Thanks for a fun giveaway!

  39. 39

Wow – these necklaces are so lovely, because they are so simple. AND I love silver! I would probably choose a disc with mine and hubby's names, and then the first initial of our 9 children's names separated by dots – no way to fit full names! :-)

As to what my hubby would write: Probably "Marry me?" since he keeps asking :-) – we'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary 7/2. Or "Lava" which has become our "I love you" when we text.

  44. 44
    BarbaraH says:

How cool! I'd have to go with "Vous et Nul Autre" – it was on the promise ring my hubby gave me. OR "A Kiss for Later" – that's our thing. Ooh – or maybe my kids' names…

  45. 45
    Laurie says:

What a great necklace! My husband would put "I swear by the moon and the stars…". I Swear by John Michael Montgomery has been 'our' song since very early in our relationship (15 years ago!)- we used it at our wedding, and it's now our ring tones for each other. Would LOVE to have a necklace like that!

  46. 46

  56. 56
    Esscie says:

Stunning! I would choose my children's names.

  57. 57

What a beautiful shop!! I would probably pick a bible verse to go on one!

  58. 58

I love the names around the heart necklace. That's beautiful!

My husband would probably engrave something silly like "What's for dinner?" or "You're the best cooker I know." But that's just him.

  59. 59

I love the mother of pearl on the disk and I am having a hard time thinking what to put on it. Maybe "Harmony" It has a special meaning to us.

  60. 60

I have visited this shop more than once. LOVE this stuff! The cup of love necklaces are just lovely, but I think I would let my hubby decide what he would put on a necklace.

    Yours is just beautiful!!!

    Marie says:

That is the sweetest thing! Love it. If my hubby could create a necklace it would say "Hey babe, it is babe isn't it?" A saying he's said to me all of our 23 years together. It might not mean much to anyone else, but to me it's very sentimental!

    Blessings,
    Marie

  68. 68
    Nikki says:

    "Crazy in love"

That's what I'd have engraved…I sometimes say, "I love you like crazy!" Dh responds…"you must be crazy to love me." It's kind of a joke b/w us:)

  69. 69

He would probably do "SPHB" which is our secret code name for eachother (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch, from the song… which we cheesily used to sing to eachother when we were dating in high school)…

  70. 70
    kahlanne says:

I like so many of her things. I think I change my mind every time I visit her store! Today I like the names around my heart necklace.

  79. 79

  88. 88
    Kelly says:

I love the one your hubby picked out – that's the one I'd choose.

However, my darling husband would probably choose a different engraving.

Brother in law made a joking comment the other day, and hubby's response was "Dude, that's my wife. Hands off. Just like my tools and my truck. Don't touch."

Uhm… Thanks? I think? He clarified last night by telling me "You're higher on the list than my tools, honey". Do you think that would fit?

  89. 89
    Amanda says:

I would pick the dainty hearts on a chain with mine and my husband's initials. If my hubby got to choose engraving he would probably say something like "do you know where my _____ is?" :) Enjoy your vacation with hubs.

  90. 90

I'd get the Mother of Pearl on a disc for my mom and engrave the names of her kids {me, my sister and my husband}. She was so happy when a son was added to the mix :)

  91. 91

Its hard to say what my hubby would have engraved on there. That is a beautiful necklace. He would probably have the words Love Always, McDaddy engraved on it because that is how he signs each and every card he has ever given me. I would love to win that or anything else featured on her site.

I'd get "Happy to you!", its our family motto inspired by my 1-yr old who started saying it all the time to everyone when we tried to teach him the birthday song. Now we say it to each other daily, and any family or friends who visit. It "works for us!"

I like the single pearl on yours too.

  100. 100
    Valencia says:

I just love, love, love, the eclectic necklace. With such a large family, I can't ever find any necklace that will fit all of my children's names. That would be a dream come true for a mega family mom…lol

I love these necklaces, have been thinking about getting them for my niece's for Christmas.

My husband would put "Love Mark"
on the necklace for me. See I would want it to say "Love Always Mark" When we got married in '72 that is what he put in my ring and I put the Love Always in his. So we split up after 11 years, divorced for six, and have been back together for 20 years now. Actually come to think of it our Anniversary is tomorrow the 24th.
So he still won't do "Love Always" on anything, can't even sign a card that way but I do believe he will always love me!

  111. 111
    Laura says:

I'd have to talk to my husband about what to pick on a necklace. But, I'm thinking I'd like "zusammen" which means "together" in German. We have it engraved on our wedding bands.

  114. 114

I asked my hubby and he said the exact thing I would put myself.

Either "Love me all your life, never let me go. Til the stars no longer shine"

    OR the shortened:

"Til the stars no longer shine…"

Its a line from our wedding song, Todd Naff, I will (look him up on youtube, hes not famous YET)

Etsy is great – and takes a lot of effort. My wife also has an etsy shop (sofyaswords.etsy.com) so is familiar with all the ups and downs of selling there.
The Vintage Pearl is great though. Very cool shop.

Anyway, I would engrave "That's all I ask of you" from the Phantom of the Opera. Its a favourite show of ours.

    Sara says:

I love the circle-square "faith" piece she has.

  120. 120
    Rebecca says:

My favorite is the names around my heart one. Since I'm expecting my second child, I would wait until we positively know what we're having and have my kids names on it.
If my hubby were to write something, it would say "With Warmest Regards". He wrote that in a card for me back when we were first dating, not knowing what else to say. We said the "I love yous" very shortly after, but that's alwayws been our thing.
Everyhting she makes is so pretty though!

I would choose Cup of Love with my daughter's name engraved on it. I would wear it now and give it to her when she got old enough to appreciate it!

Ooh her work is so beautiful.

I'm split between two things: my hubby would either put our names and marriage date OR our nicknames ____ loves _____. I'm guessing since it's a piece of jewelry (more permanent) he'd go with the first.

But I'd love to find out!

I love her jewelry, and I would be tickled to win! I would put my kids name on the necklace.

    Thanks for the chance!

I love the mother of pearl on a disc or cup of love. My husband is a loving man, but definitely not the romantically inclined. I would either have my kids names inscribed or the reference of my life verse, or Blessed Momma….. oh, there's too many decisions to make:)

    debbie says:

After spending a day home with the kids my husband always says, "You're more sane than you have a right to be."

I could see him having that put on a necklace for me. He keeps me laughing!

I would have her put either "your a rainy day in June" based on a song I wrote for my wife "You, I knew from before" based on a Mad About You" Quote.

As Dory said in Finding Nemo, "Pick me, Pick me!

  129. 129

Not sure what hubby would write but I would like "love always" That seems to cover it all for us!

    Kacie says:

My hubby would say "I love your face", which is totally our pet phrase at the moment, said in a childish, cheesy voice. :)

    Kristine says:

How sweet! I would put my kid's names on it. I think they would just barely fit. I have no idea what my husband would write. I think he would have to think about it for a while.

I am thinking circle with sons name and three little hearts with my girls names. Sigh, so dang sweet.

My husband would probably engrave MTY~LTT. It stands for: More Than Yesterday ~ Less Than Tomorrow.
Meaning ~ He loves me more than yesterday and he'll love me even more tomorrow! If I don't win I'll have to order me one! :0)

"Names around my heart," definitely! And my husband would have "I will never leave you" engraved on something if he purchased it for me. :-) Yeah, I'm blessed like that.

Her shop is wonderful. All day I have been thinking about one of my daughters that is struggling a bit. All I can keep repeating to myself is that she is a Pearl of Great Price — and that is the necklace I would have made for her.

    Thank you Kristen and Erin!

I love the starlet and since Morgan is too long to fit on it, I like the example in the picture with wish.

    I don't have a hubby, nor a boyfriend for that matter…

Still I find it very heart warming to see so many people very much in love throughout their lives :)

I'd have the "petite flower" with "Sabiá" engraved on it, it's both a bird and a song

Her shop is beautiful! What a perfect keepsake. I LOVE what your husband engraved. :) You're a lucky wife. I also like the design that you have (I like the heart one too though…). I would want to engrave the number 1610 on one. It has been my husband and mine special thing since we've been married. Long story….BUT 1610 is our number! My husband even has it tattooed on him, lol.

    Holly says:

My husband is an amazing man, but he would never think to do something like your necklace. Unless I strongly "hinted" at it, and that takes away a lot of the meaningfulness.
I ordered baby spoons for my twin nephews a couple months ago, and they were so pretty!
If I won, I'd probably get something with my kids' names.

  146. 146

I love her jewelry-my husband would pick a pearl necklace for me like yours with our childrens names engraved-Jaythan and Savannah. Savannah is with Jesus now. This would mean so much to me.

  147. 147

Such a sweet husband you have there.

My husband would select the peace dove with "Hope" engraved on it. A powerful massage in one simple word as we continue to struggle with infertility issues. I may not be able to say "engrave the names of my children" but I can say I believe in "hope."

Thanks for all you do. Your blog is a daily treat.

I'm not a huge jewelry person, but when I wear something it has to have meaning! That's why I love these customized pieces! I'd love one that says "My heart's at home."

Oh, how could I choose?! these are great. I don't know what my husband would choose, but if I was writing it would have two names, his and our sons.

Very cool what your husband wrote. Good job Mr. Family!
