Happy New Year {Giveaway}

This giveaway has now ended. Winners will be announced soon!
I thought about posting my best posts and pictures of 2009 like so many other bloggers are doing.
But y’all. I didn’t get out of my pajamas until 2:30 p.m. yesterday. I’m working the lazy this week.
So, I thought a giveaway (a great one at that) would be just as good!
These pictures have one thing in common.

Can you find it?
Hint: Follow the red arrows.
Some good guesses might be…my pasty white skin, my love of denim and Disney…
(This has nothing to do with this post, but I have decided next time to actually watch my little girl open her presents on her birthday and to open my eyes during pictures. You could call them resolutions, if you will).
Answer: I’m wearing my favorite necklace from The Vintage Pearl.
It’s the Eclectic Necklace. (I traded it for advertising months ago).
Here’s a closer look, but I don’t know who those children are:

It’s a New Year. And The Vintage Pearl and I are starting it off with a bang and giving away TWO $50 gift certificates to TWO winners!!
I also love this bracelet:

Erin of The Vintage Pearl is making one for me to review!
Leave a comment and tell me something you plan to do in the New Year!
Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y’ALL!

    Love the necklace!

This year, my prayer is to actively, daily look for opportunities to partner with God and obediently allow Him to use me to perform everyday miracles. I want to be His hands and feet.

    What a great giveaway!!
I'm resolving to be more present in the moment and spend more quality time with my family. I'd love to go on several short term missions. I just retd from Africa and would love to rtn this year.
    Happy New Year!

Well, I will be turning 40 in a couple of weeks, so I jump started the new year process by getting a membership at the gym a few weeks ago( and yes I have actually gone since then!) so in the new year I plan to look and feel better at 40 than I did at 30. I also hope to stop and enjoy my kids more. My oldest is graduating this year and my youngest is potty training, and I just don't know where the time has gone!!

    To pray more for others.
    To lose weight.

    God's peace to you.

    Thanks,

Aside from the regular- hit the gym three times a week, eat more fruits and veggies, watch portions, etc- goals, I'm adding a new one that will be lots of fun. Once a week I'm going to do something special for a stranger. Pay for the person behind me at a drive-thru, give a pedicure at the retirement home, or even just say something when I notice someone in line at the grocery store has pretty hair or cute shoes (those little compliments always make my day). It’d be even more wonderful if those people ‘passed it on’. :)

  6. says

It's just like someone to get a picture of you as if you aren't paying attention…..I know you were! :)
I plan to eat better this year. I make this resolution every stinkin year, but maybe this will be the one!

I plan to get promoted and if that happens then we may try for another baby. If not then we will enjoy 2010 and try again in 2011.

My plans for 2010 is to commit my ways to the Lord because its only through him that I will achieve my goals: 1. Get Fit,2. purpose to enjoy each day and not get caught up in the "stuff" life throws at me
    3. Take more mini-trips and visit friends and family more
    4. purpose to look for ministry opportunities that my children and I can do together
    5. and not put off for tomorrow what can be done right now…

  13. says

My new years goals (not resolutions) are all about setting me and my family up for success not failure. I wrote about it on my blog but basically I have no idea what this year is going to bring so I can't say lose 20 pounds when I might have a baby and gain 40. I can't say organize my whole house when it looks like we might be moving to Guam. My goal is to stay positive and go with the flow.

My goal for the new year is to take more time for myself so I can in turn be a better Mom! Too often I forever put my children first & have found that I lose sight of who *I* am as a woman, not just a mother! Thanks for such a great contest!

  15. says

Just found your blog tonight. I'm going to lose my baby weight in 2010 and get back into my "skinny pants"! Thanks for the giveaway

I want to KNOW HIM more! I want to love the people around me with an everlasting Jesus kind of love.

I also want to be a good steward and dig out of some very stressful financial disaster.

I love all of the jewelry!

  17. says

I plan in cutting our grocery bill…hopefully in half…and save more in general and follow more of Dave Ramsey's guidelines for Financial Peace.

My plans for the new year is to have a fresh start. Feels like the past few months have been slightly chaotic, but I am looking forward to starting fresh! Get my youngest potty trained!! Get some rooms in my home organized, continue to eat better, and get better at exercising! (common I know, but I have already started just want to keep going with it), be a better mom and wife!!

I LOVE both the necklace and the bracelet!! Thanks for the opportunity!!

  19. says

Love. love. love. The vintage pearl. omg! Ok, the most exciting thing the I know I will be doing in 2010 is graduating!! With 4 kiddos and working it has taken me twice as long as it should. I cannot wait. My kids 12, 11, 5, & 4 are all excited to be attending my graduation. They have lived through every semester and been amazing to play "quietly" through so many of my study sessions. I feel like we are all graduating. Woo Hoo! Happy New Year Everyone!

  20. says

Happy New Year! I love that jewelry, I have wanted the necklace and bracelet since I saw it at the Nutcracker Fair.

I havew lost about 30 pounds and I want to continue of my fitness quest to reach my 50 pound goal. I am also joining a group that is reading the Chronilogical Bible in a year. I pray that I can keep up with both for the next 12 months and will be better mentally and physically this time next year!

    Have a wonderful 2010!

  21. says

One is to limit my computer time to when my son is in bed. I've figured out you're not really spending time together when one is watching tv and the other is on the computer…..definately does not qualify as "quality time." (one of his love languages.

  22. says

I plan to read your blog a little more often…..you are growing by leaps and bounds. I mean your blog is…..I love the necklace so I want a chance to win something. Happy New Year!

I'm a pack-rat and have got to work on all of those little corners, drawers, and hide-aways! My temper needs some work and I struggle with my daily devotions. But I "PLAN" to just take one day at a time. I love your comments and encouragement (and the give-away)!

Hooray! Great contest! This year I plan on completing more items on my 101 in 1001 list. That list is my resolution/goal list for last year, this year, and next year.

  27. says

Hey! I'm new to your blog–came across it through another. Very fun! Very familiar!! I love it–

My plans for this new year include, very simply, to know God more and to spend less meaningless computer & phone time and more meaningful real person time with my amazing man and 6 kids He has given me!

Facebook, email, chatting on end, etc., can pull me away too often from too many opportunities to live and love. And I'm not even that computer savvy! Just have found myself drifting away on it…I've been convicted! I can be a stay at home mom who adores the Lord, but fail my children terribly by putting them off to do these trivial things that in the end, mean nothing. There's a balance–don't get me wrong. I love me some girl time on the phone, for sure! Just want to watch the clock a bit more on it this year…be aware of my children's needs, as well as my own needs to be Jesus, and what I may be sacrificing eternally. God has called me to a tremendous ministry here in my home–as a wife, a mommy, and even a pastor's wife–and I want to do it well.

That is my simple goal for this year! Wishing you and your family a very richly blessed new year–may you know God more! Glad to have found your blog and look forward to reading it when I am on the computer!! :) Lea

Our oldest "daughter" is a niece we incorporated into our family 4 years ago based on her lack of family and the crisis surrounding her. Our own 5 are ages 10-2, which began when I was just about to turn 30. I want to love them each more passionately, more physically, more deeply this year!!

I plan to finally get everything unpacked, put away (or given or done away with), hung on the walls, etc. since we moved into our house a year and a half ago. Yes…we've been a little slack in this area (understatement?). Happy New Year, everyone!

My word for 2010 is AWARENESS! Mostly to the world around me and how I impact it…mostly in my family, but also myself and the Earth.

  33. says

My goal for the new year is to simplify our lives. Try to buy things at thrift stores, make fewer trips in the car, purchase less and make more at home.

  34. Rebecca D. says

I am going to try to keep up with my blogging much better this year! I did well until August, when I started homeshooling, and then I just fell off of the wagon! I have been frantically trying to play catch-up before the deadline that I had set for myself (first week of Jan.)to have my blog printed into a book for our family…but I have to get caught up first! Aargh! Hopefully next Jan., I will not have to play catch-up! :)

  38. says

The goal for me this year is to stay on top of things…organizing, cleaning, cooking, etc. Will make my life much easier! Love the eclectic necklace.
