I do the round brush instead of flat iron to save time too. Mine's the Marilyn brush from Beauty First (about $15 but worth it). It helps keep it straight at the ends and the bristles are softer.<br /><br />Anyway, here's the piggy back - if your hair is too poofy after drying try taking a shower and styling at night.
