Thank you so much for sharing this experience. You started my day with a smile by telling this beautiful story.

What an awesome story. Thanks for sharing. You told your story so beautifully. You should be proud!
That is so incredibly beautiful. I am not ashamed to say that as I read this story, I wept. How absolutely heart wrenching. She is so beautiful! I would not have been able to hold my composure in such a moment. Wow!
I did kind of chuckle at the long service comment. Ours are about the same length…grin
Thank you for the wonderful posts this week. I've read all the Kenya Bloggers' posts and have been so touched by them all. I'm a Child Advocate for Compassion and wouldn't trade this (volunteer) position for anything!
For some reason I can't close out of your comments section. Maybe a sign that I need to comment =)
I have been reading your blog since early last week. Thanks for such touching stories. I am considering sponsoring a child. I am just a little nervous since I am a single mother of two already on a tight budget. Asking for God's guidance on this matter.
That is just beautiful. I knew exactly what you meant when you said you almost had to look away as she worshiped… I got that sense just looking at the pictures.
You have such a sweet heart, Kristen. I have loved your posts this week. What an amazing opportunity you've had for God to teach you and touch others. Praying for a safe trip home and sweet reunion with your family!
Thank you for going on this trip and bringing Kenya to all of us. You have done such a great job telling Compassion's story.
As a mother of a child with Down syndrome, can I ask that you say she "has" Down syndrome rather than she "was" or "is" Down syndrome? It may seem like a small or insignificant distinction, but it's important to refer to the person and not define her by a condition. I know it wasn't intentional.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful perspective!

Hi there Kristen,
I have been following you all on your journey and have been moved beyond words. I just needed to tell you (I've never commented before) that the headline photo (the story made me sob and cry~not pretty) is absolutely, heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Truly…You look gorgeous and make me wish I had your faith and will. Thank you for sharing.~Lisa
Kristen, OHHHH WOOWWW!! I love this pic of you and beautiful Kenyan princess in pink. I've gobbled up all your posts and incredible photos from your trip. Yep- you'll never be the same!! Thank you for the intimate peek at your adventure and sharing your heart with your readers. I'm speechless!xoxo
To everyone who read this post, thank you for correcting my ignorance. This in reference to what I wrote at the beginning of this story, "She was Downs Syndrome and was absolutely beautiful" As I wrote this post before I left Kenya, I was not able to make corrections to it due to traveling. If I offended anyone, I am sorry. Please forgive me. This was never my intention.
Wow. This picture is worth a thousand words. Beautiful.
