At our house….
We love summer. We love sandwiches. We love parties.
So, the other night, we hosted The Ultimate Summer Sandwich Party just because (see above).

To make the perfect sandwich (hot or cold), you need goodies, as my hubby would say:

The hit of the night was a little creation called The Avocado Bacon Panini on Rye. Oh. MY.

Recipe: The Avocado Bacon Panini on Rye
Rye Bread, cut into slices
Fresh tomatoes, onions, sliced avocado
Pancetta (it’s like a thin bacon, usually found in the deli dept) with choice of condiment (hot pepper relish and sweet and spicy mustered were a hit!)
and the secret ingredient……Deli Deluxe‘s new Bacon Cheddar slices.

Assemble:

Panini It (can I make that a verb?):

Serve:

Want to host your own party or just panini your way to a full stomach?
Tell me what ingredient you would add to the Deli Deluxe Bacon Cheddar, Jalapeno or Sharp Cheddar to make an ultimate sandwich and you’ll be entered to win one of the following FOUR prize packs including: a Panini grill, four (4) sandwich holders, Deli Deluxe aprons, three (3) Deli Deluxe product coupons : Approximate retail value: $125
Disclaimer: I was one of five bloggers selected by Deli Deluxe to host a “Ultimate Summer Sandwich” party and giveaway. I have been compensated for the materials needed for my “Ultimate Summer Sandwich” party. But as always, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments saying I love cheese. Because I do. Kraft Foods is providing the prizes for this giveaway at no cost to me. This giveaway is not administered or sponsored by Kraft Foods or its affiliates, but solely by Kristen Welch.
This giveaway ends on Friday.

Avocado mixed with some kind if herbage.
Oh, I would def. have to add some crisp bacon.
I like pastrami and love red onions.
Okay, I’m not a big sandwich lover but…I love egg/omelet sandwiches. what I would like is a the jalapeno cheese over a western omelet sandwich on “panninied” italian bread.
I would add olives and banana peppers!
I have to ditto the bacon…also I would probably add some peppers…not sure which though – red or orange, I think!
Oh, and I would like to know where you got those gorgeous plates that the toppings are on – they are very cool!
Definitely pickles and olives!
The Bacon Cheddar with an egg and green onion. Yum!
I would add Granny Smith Apple slices!
I’d add turkey bacon with the sharp cheddar or jalepeno cheddar and maybe add black olives or artichoke hearts, or both. Now I’m REALLY hungry!
great pictures and review! I think that Panini should be a verb especially with that cool Panini Press!!
I would like to make a Mushroom and Jalapeno Panini.
bacon, turkey, red onion, and a bit of crispy greens! Yumm-o!
I would have turkey, ham and the chedder bacon with onion between a couple slices of “everything bread.”
Sharp cheddar, granny smith apples, on sourdough…yum…..thanks
mmmm i would add thin sliced ham and green apple slices to the sharp cheddar and “panini it” on sour dough bread mmmmm!
I’d have to put that yummy cheese on Cajun Roast Beef (Sharp Cheddar) or Mesquite Smoked Turkey (Bacon Cheddar)….my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
I would have to add some roasted veggies to any of the cheese; esp. the jalapeno for hubby. I can taste some roasted zukes will the bacon cheddar. Yum!
Our regular ultimate sandwich is a toasted everything bagel, mayo, avocado, tomato, cheese, meat (roast beef is our favorite) and salt/pepper/Italian seasoning. I’m thinking the Sharp Cheddar would hit the spot.
I would use Texas Toast; a thin layer of mayo or Miracle Whip, then 3 strips of thick cut bacon. Then 2 slices of Bacon Cheddar cheese. Top that with 3 more strips of bacon. “Panini it” and enjoy delicious, cheesy bacon goodness. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any angioplasties that will need to be performed due to eating this sandwich.
If a BLT is a Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato, this should be called a BBC: Bacon, Bacon & Cheese.
Yummy.
sharp cheddar of course!
