I’m reading a new book
It’s a devotional I didn’t know I needed. I’m being reminded with every page of God’s great love for me. Oh, sure, I know He loves me. But sometimes I think subconsciously there are strings attached to that love–If I, when I…and there’s not. He loves me. All of me. Simple (and profound) as that.

Holley is more than just the author of some amazing books. She’s my friend. Someone who asks “How are you, really?” And I can tell her- even when the answer is yucky. She asked that during my health crisis this summer. I let my guard down and told her exactly how I was doing.

Oh I would really love to read this book! This is something that I have struggled with so much since becoming a Christian. I always have this view that I am never enough, or that God will Love me if I do this, say this, accomplish this, etc. I guess my word would be In God’s heart, I am Adequate.

I have never heard of this book, but it sounds wonderful. I completely understand you when you say you can answer honestly how you are…no matter how yucky. I have struggled with that in the past. Essentially, we are liars when we don’t truthfully tell others who ask how we are. We are also cheaters because if we don’t tell the truth, we rob others of the opportunity to pray or help us out. This is why I have tried in the past to change how I answer. Even if we say, “It could be better.” It opens the door to help or encouragement.
I would love to read this book and receive these gifts.
