An Advent Experience for Little Hands {Giveaway}

UPDATED WITH WINNERS:  Congratulations Deborah (comment #35), Zenobia (comment #47), Amy (comment #58), Sarah H. (comment #70), and Elizabeth (comment #80)

I’m anticipating Advent this year with my family! From yesterday’s post, you can see we do a variety of activities to celebrate the Season and I’m super excited to try out Truth in the Tinsel, an Advent experience for little hands. My kids LOVE crafts!

As I read thru the pages, I was so impressed with the tangible, practical ways to open up Christmas to even the smallest. Plus it’s neatly organized, easy to use and absolutely inspiring.

I really believe December is one of best times to impress God’s Word on your kids’ hearts. Our whole country turns its attention to Christmas–stores are playing songs of worship to the newborn king, movies are playing on cable that show the real meaning of Christmas and people even decorate their yard with Bible characters! -Amanda, author

This ebook is full of encouraging and tangible ways to  make Christmas about Him.

Along with this great little ebook, Amanda, is issuing a challenge on Impress Your Kids blog to “give” our kids the first 24 days of December by doing the book together & joining the Truth in the Tinsel Facebook page. It will be a place of encouragement every day during Advent (by posting pics of the craft you did, funny things your kids said while doing the activity, etc.)

The whole concept of the book is to read a portion of the Christmas Story directly from Scripture. Then make an ornament craft to go along with it. The talk about the event or the person in the story. It sounds simple but I know (and you do, too if you have kids) that when kids get to use their hands to create and they get to talk about something, it gets into them. I see these Advent activities in the book as kid-friendly ways to meditate on God’s Word. -Amanda

I hope you’ll give it a try with your little ones! The ebook is regularly $4.99, but you can save 20% with the code THATfamily. It’s only good for 24 hours, so hurry! [This post contains my referral link].

Today, I’m giving away FIVE copies. Leave a comment if you’d like to be entered.

This giveaway ends on Thursday.

I have been looking for an affordable resource to do with my two young children this year for advent, and this just might be the winner. Thanks for the heads up!!

I tried the code but it said it had already expired. I noticed that you updated that it wasn’t working, but since we are in South Korea, I figured it had already been fixed. :) I’m never sure what time things end because of the time difference. Anyhow, I went ahead and bought a copy, it looks amazing! I’m excited to get started. Thanks for sharing!

My son is 2 now, and I’m really trying to instill some values about Christmas into him. Right now, he’s all about his presents. I’m hoping, since Christmas is on a Sunday, we can teach him about baby jesus

please enter me! Dear Husband comes from a non-liturgical background and never celebrated Advent. I want him to experience it, as well as making sure our 1 year old son is fully immersed in all things Advent – with the hopes that both will love it as much as I do!

What a great resource for younger kids! Or for those that just can’t. sit. still. while they listen, like my 6yo. I’d love to win this!

I would love love love to do this with my kids!! They are 4 1/2 and 2, and so excited about Christmas. In fact, I pinned your post yesterday to Pinterst, and need to keep #19 in mind. It’s so easy to get swept up into the craziness that the world brings and forget why we’re really celebrating. Last night we read about the Shepherds in the Jesus Storybook Bible – so fun to watch my little boy’s eyes light up when the angels appear :) Thanks for your blog!

Just the excerpt on the website is amazing – always looking for ways to show my girls the TRUE meaning of Christmas (whch is hard, so so hard with all the ‘stuff’ they see each and every day).

I have been thinking about this book this week, and am eager to see more about it. I think it looks amazing so far. Thank you Amanda, and Kristin for this opportunity!! It really looks wonderful! I LOVE the cover 😉

I’d love to win! We’ve never really done anything for Advent; even though I was raised in a Christian home, Christmas was all about Santa. We’re trying to change that for our kids, and this would be a great help to us!

My daughter is two and I’ve been looking and looking for something that is her level. I’ve found bits and pieces of things I could use or modify to work, but nothing that’s all put together and just needs a trip to the craft store. It appears this book could indeed be the book that lets me cross something off my to do list.

Would love this! I am always looking for new ideas each year for Advent. I have been doing Advent for over 12 years now and think it is a great opportunity to teach young children what the true meaning of Christmas is.

I would love this book- I’ve seen it on two other blogs, just today, and I wasn’t even searching for this book, so it must be good! I have an almost 4 year old. I’m planning to home school him starting next fall! Blessings to you and your family!
