Boxing

We are moving in 10 days.

This is what my garage looks like:

This weekend my hubby packed it up and stacked boxes to the ceiling while I packed the kitchen.

He walked in and saw a dozen boxes and said, “How are you going to cook dinner?”

[Insert evil laugh]

I foresee a lot of sandwiches and salads in our future.

It turns out jet lag and packing boxes sort of makes us grouchy and aggressive. Who knew?

Y’all have a happy Monday.

Blessings on the move and what the new house/home will become for your family here and the one inKenya.

Remember to rest. The packing up and unpacking will occur, it always does.

So blessed by your postings from Kenya, Thank-you :)

Four and a half years ago we boxed up our house and fixed up our new house one week before going to Ethiopia for three weeks. After those three weeks we came back and moved house the next day. It was madness, but we made it!

A friend of mine had her children make all sorts of little notes (like the size of an index card). They rolled and folded the little notes and hid them around the house for little surprises for their house’s new owners. I always thought that was a fun idea.

Happy boxing……it’s the un-boxing that is the yucky part….

Moving is my favorite time to toss the junk my family collects over time. I really am NOT a hoarder and try to get rid of things almost every week, but nothing brings out the “toss it” mentality for me than a move. Try to enjoy it as much as is possible.

Good luck with the move! This weekend we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary from our move from the west coast to corn land! Oh the memories, of traveling with a newborn, 2 year old and a very mad 6 year old in a van with an air conditioner half working all by myself while my hubby drove the moving van! At least I can laugh about them now!
