Family Activity: Thanksgiving Wreath

Supplies Needed:

  • styrofoam wreath (we found our orange one at the Target Dollar spot for a buck)-you can wrap ribbon around it if you can’t find a colored one.
  • fall colored card stock cut into simple leaf shapes (my 5 year old and I cut them out)
  • ball straight pins

On our Table:

Rather than hurry through this project we saw in Family Fun magazine, we decided to leave the wreath and supplies on our table and each night we write something we are thankful for on a leaf and use a push pin to attach it the wreath.

By Thanksgiving, we will have a beautiful wreath full of our gratitude for the front door!

I love this! And so will my 5-year-old daughter. I’m going to get a wreath today. :) Thanks for sharing this!

I love this! Thank you! Months ago I saw a very similar idea only it involved making a pocket calendar out of fabric and putting the leaves in the pockets. I am NOT that crafty. This looks way more doable for me! And just as cute!

Awesome!!! …and your 5 year old has mad cutting skills. Mine butchers everything she touches with a scissor.

This is great! As my two are 1 1/2 and 3mos right now, we won’t do it this year. But in a couple years, when they’re both articulate enough to tell us what’s up? You bet this is going to happen. I love it!

I love this idea. I have been looking for a neat way to display our thankful things. We are attempting as a family to find 20 ways to show “thanks” this season. I will use this wreath to display those things. I love your website and ideas.
