This is What God Does with the Broken Pieces of our Story

He turns it into something for His glory.

My life is a beautiful mess, mixed with muddy and majestic moments. This is my story, filled with failure and fortune and a lot of faith. It is the ultimate story of realization and restoration and the miraculous God-work of creating something beautiful from broken pieces.

This is a book for imperfect people who aren’t called to greatness, but rather, to smallness. This book is testimony to how He steps into our ordinary, often self-absorbed world and transforms small, day-to-day choices into something God-sized.

This book is about how God shattered my clean, comfortable Christian life on an unexpected journey when He used the abundant joy of the poor to rescue me from the poverty in my soul.

This book will encourage readers to make their lives about Jesus and say yes right where they are.

I’m writing a new book!

Coming 2014

Congratulations! I can’t wait to read it. I have to say, you have been such a role model to me in how you life your life for Christ. I have a ton of “How to start a 501c3″ windows open right now because of you and your work!

I have a picture almost just like yours sitting on my desktop — so similar I had to say something. I just signed with Tyndale Momentum at the end of March, and my book (The Art of Praying Upside Down) will be published in 2014, too! If you’re as excited as I am, well, we’re both doing happy dances all over the place. It’s humbling, though, isn’t it? And the more I write, the more in awe I am of this God of ours who can take, as you said, the messy and broken and create something beautiful. Can’t wait to read your book, and in the meantime, I’ll continue to enjoy your beautiful writing. Many blessings!
