What I Love About Stitch Fix {Giveaway}

*Updated with Winner* Congrats to random commenter #32, Tara (check your email)!

By now, y’all have all heard of Stitch Fix, right? It might be my favorite mail ever. I wrote about my first fix here. Since, I’ve received 3 more. I thought I’d share an update. I usually keep a little something from my box and it’s generally a piece of clothing I WOULD NEVER CHOOSE. And that’s exactly why I love it: the clothes are Stylist approved….the only thing in my life which falls into that category.

Here’s what I’ve kept:

1. This airy red flutter blouse is something I would never have tried on. I love the ruffles on the sleeves. It has tiny blue anchors on the print.

2. Again, I would have never chosen this peacock print top, but it’s one of my favorites. I love the tie at the front.

3. I love how tall this dress makes me look (feel). At 5’2, I don’t even try on maxi dresses. I’m glad Stitch Fix didn’t know that! I can’t wait to wear it to the beach with my hubby in a couple of weeks.

4. Chevron is the latest rage and this is my first time to wear it. I like the asymmetrical hem and it looks awesome with Mercy House beads.

5. This super cute, new favorite soft white top is so feminine. I love the lace on the back. I’m a jeans kind of girl and this is something I would have picked out! I love this top.

What I love about Stitch Fix:

  • While the clothes cost more than I would normally spend, even after choosing the cheapest option they have (most of the above items were around $38), it’s all I’m buying these days. I typically grab clothes on the Target clearance rack and when I get home I realize my clearance top doesn’t match anything or it doesn’t hold up well. And now, I have no desire to shop for clothes because I know Stitch Fix is coming!
  • Even though you have to make a quick stitch decision (3 days to return the box), there’s free shipping and you don’t have to go to the store with your three kids to try on clothes.
  • I love that I can try on the items in the box (5 things come in every box, sometimes one item is jewelry) with clothes from my closet.
  • It’s so easy and time-saving! I don’t ever have to go to the mall again (!!), but don’t tell my teen daughter that. It cost $20 a month to get your fix on, but that amount is deducted from your box.
  • Stitch Fix has an amazing referral program. They give you $25 credit for every person you tell! I’ll keep getting a stitch fix (at least until I run out of credit). They also offer gift cards. What a great, fun gift to give!
  • Each piece of clothing comes with a picture card on various ways to wear the shirt or dress, etc. I need all the help I can get.

Today, I’m giving away a $50 gift card for one lucky person. Leave a comment and tell me if you’ve ever tried it. You can sign up here (my referral link) and start getting your own referral credits by sharing it with your friends! P.S. Stitch Fix accommodates sizes 0-14. I hope they have plans for more sizes soon. Also, if you end up on the waiting list, don’t be discouraged. It’s usually a quick wait!

I would LOVE to try this. I am a TERRIBLE shopper and have stood in the middle of the mall more than once in tears…..sad but true!

  2. 156

    Michelle S. says

I have never tried it but I checked out the website and blog. Looks interesting! I’d love to try it!

  3. 159

    Molly says

I’ve tried StitchFix once before and kept one super cool gold necklace. I’d love to try it again!

  4. 160

    Ashleigh says

I LOVE all of your picks! You look great! I would love to try Stitch Fix…I don’t have a lot of extra spending $ to spend on clothes every month, so this would be a huge treat!

  5. 161

    Katie says

I checked into Stitch Fix when you originally mentioned it! I LOVE it!! It is my favorite day! Who doesnt like receiving a package in the mail! I have kept a few items and sent a few back. LOVE the concept. My third “Fix” was just shipped yesterday…can’t wait!!

By the way, I just bought Running For My Life. I am glued to the book! I will start reading it to my children at supper too. I love that idea. My kids need to be exposed more to the harsh reality of how others are so much worse off than we are.

Thank you for all you do!

  6. 162

I did sigh up for SF through your referral, but I keep putting off my shipment while I lose baby #3’s weight. I’m only 10 pounds away and would love to try my first shipment out!

  7. 165

    Mary Anne says

What an awesome idea!! I definitely need the stylist advice. Dragging 3 kids and a husband (cause I want his opinion and if he goes, most of the time they have to go) to go shopping is no fun. Might have to see if this fits into our budget!

  8. 168

    Kelly says

Feeling inspired to give Stitch Fix a try after this post! 4 kids in tow and my closet is suffering! Even one cute new top/dress would make it worth it at this point! Love that chevron dress…and the beads!

  9. 169

    Lorie D. says

I have never tried it but would love to. Having something picked out for me that is stylist approved would be perfect!

  10. 172

    Sarah says

This sounds like fun. I would love to spend a giftcard. I am preggo, so I would have to wait to try it :) Thanks!

  11. 173

    Rachel says

This sounds easy and fun! I haven’t tried this yet, but I would love to! Love the different options!

  12. 174

    Heather E. says

I signed up when you wrote about this the first time, but I chickened out and canceled my membership. Maybe a gift card is what I need to get me going. :)

  13. 178

I’ve been wanting to try this…but didn’t have $40 to spend on clothes. I’m hoping that will change for the fall.

  14. 181

    Tonia says

This is something I’m really interested in, but a little afraid to try. I’ve been reconsidering that though. I HATE trying things on in the stores & I HATE having to go back to the store’s to return something. I also love the idea of being able to double check that it’s something that would work with my wardrobe. Also, when it comes to styling, I need allllll the help I can get.

  15. 184

    Cora says

I have never tried it, but as a mom of two little ones I would love the easy of shopping for clothes in my own house.

  16. 186

    Carolyn says

How cool is this? Never heard of it before (apparently I don’t get out much besides Target!), but it looks like fun!

  17. 193

    Stacy says

I registered with Stitch Fix after I read your first blog about it but didn’t sign up because I just didn’t think they would send me anything I would like or could afford (the website said average item was $75?!). Now I am housebound so having clothes come to my door would be a great thing to look forward to and after seeing the adorable keepers you’ve received (and the reasonable price!), I would be OVER THE MOON to win this giveaway!

  18. 197

    Shannon says

I really want to try Stitch Fix. I signed up a few months ago, but I haven’t yet told them to send a box (it’s a budget thing) so I’d love to win, thanks!!!

  19. 198

    Monica K says

How I DESPERATELY need a stylist … my boss’s wife bought me two tops yesterday, “because sometimes you need a new top” …that’s desperation for this momma!

  20. 210

    Brianna says

Yes! I started using Stitch Fix this spring, and it’s so much fun! From my last box, I kept a beautiful light aqua flyaway cardigan. Can’t wait to wear it!

  21. 212

    Jamie says

Yes I have tried it! And i bought my first fix through your referral link 😉 I would like to try it again but my first box just wasnt very successful and i am afraid of wasting money again. I will try it out one more time if I win this giveaway though :) Thanks for the contest!

  22. 213

    Tara S. says

I tried it but you received way cuter things than I did! Would like to try it again and maybe change my preferences a bit. It takes a while to get used to the high prices of the clothes.

  23. 215

    RLR says

I have never tried it, but I have heard of it and it. sounds. awesome! I (only half-) jokingly tell my friends that I’m allergic to the mall. I would not go at all if Old Navy wasn’t in there. Target is my other go-to place ($20 Easter dress? Yes, please!). However, I went shopping last night – I took a friend for moral support – and found exactly two things from my two “go-to” shops. Sad face…
I have considered Stitch Fix – and I may ask for a gift card for Christmas – because my wardrobe needs some help. It wasn’t that long ago that I was too big to use this service, and now that I have lost weight I really don’t know how to dress this “new” body.
So glad that you are having success with it each month! I’m even more encouraged now that I’ve read two endorsements.

  24. 216

I have a StitchFix account, but haven’t gotten a fix yet. I made my account, and shortly after was pregnant. Now that my baby is here, I’m very much looking forward to using them to rebuild my wardrobe.

  25. 217

    Jessica P says

I’ve never tried StitchFix, but would love to. I am a medical Mom, meaning one of my daughters has a medical condition, so my time is extremely limited, and I don’t get to shop often. I could use some serious help.

  26. 218

    Lydia Palinkas says

As a mom of 4 under 6 (my oldest being handicapped) I don’t go shopping very often. I have seen this on several of the different blogs I follow and would love to give it a try! I’m all for help deciding what to wear :) Yoga pants and tee shirst are my go too items!

  27. 220

    Jenny says

This is the first time I’ve heard of it, but I’d love to give it a try. I am not a shopper, so this sounds great!

  28. 224

    Tami says

Who has time to shop for cute clothes that are quality items? We have four boys and one high needs adopted baby girl from China. I LOVE Stitch Fix!

  29. 226

    Pam says

I LOVE Stitch Fix too! I just got my 2nd Fix last week and kept everything!! It is such a time saver and I, too, asked for the lowest price range, so that I now get things that are priced closer to my comfort zone! Your pictures look great!

  30. 228

    Christy says

I live about an hour from any mall or Target! This might be something I should consider. Thanks!!

  31. 229

    Margie says

I tried stitch fix once, maybe this is where I got the idea. Loved it, especially loved the fact that the box contained items I would never try on my own. The clothes made me feel grown up, I don’t get that from my target or kohls clearance, which is what I usually buy! Would love to win and try again.

  32. 230

    Ginger says

I’ve never used it, but love the chevron dress! I’m also fashion challenged and can use all the help I can get.

  33. 232

    Michelle Recicar says

Are you kidding me?! I have never used Stitch Fix but I am so excited to hear about it! I typically wear the same things over and over again because I have a hard time visualizing how an item of clothing from the store will fit with what I have in my closet. I am truly excited…love the concept…love the time saved in shopping…looking forward to trying it.

  34. 233

    Ashley says

I’ve never heard of this either! With two kids two and under, I could use a stylist approved wardrobe enhancement. Thanks Kristen!

  35. 234

    vicki Wingo says

I have wanted to try it, but I was just thinking what-if? But now seeing you and Emily post about how great it is…I Hope I Win!!! Plus it’s my birthday next month and this would make a great gift!!!!

  36. 236

    AnnKC says

Never heard of it until now. Not sure I could afford it (I don’t shop for myself much), but I do like everything they selected for you. About to have baby #4 and once I lose the baby weight I always feel the need to shop. The gift card would come in handy for that!

  37. 239

I want to try it! I really, REALLY don’t like shopping for clothes, and generally have to do it with at least a couple of children along. Also, we have six children, so a gift card is always exciting. :)

  38. 240

    Carolyn says

I’ve never tried this, but it looks great! Like you, I have three kiddos (but they’re much younger) and taking all three shopping is not fun at all!

  39. 241

    Briana says

I did sign up off the referral link last time you wrote about it, and I explored and loved what they had going on, unfortunately, I had another hospital visit just after that, and more doctor’s bills, so I haven’t splurged on any fashion purchases lately. Give me a few months of paying off some bills, and then I may get to get back to some shopping. :)

  40. 243

    Laura says

I have not tried it but would love to! Having a stylist choose my clothes would be fantastic!! By the way, you look fabulous and fashionable. : )

  41. 248

    Erin says

Never been able to try it, but I’ve been hearing about it all over the blogosphere! Would love to try it!

  42. 250

    Hilary says

I haven’t tried it, but I’m feeling all swoon-y at the thought of not going to the mall with my four-year-old and one-year-old. And your stuff is so cute!

  43. 252

    Heather says

I can’t believe I never knew about this beforehand! With three little ones at home, this is a brilliant idea for young moms! Especially ones like me that can’t figure out how to put an outfit together!

  44. 254

    Jolene says

I have never tried Stitch Fix but would love to! I find it really difficult to find clothes for my body shape and would live to see what they can find for me…. May give it a try!!

  45. 255

I’ve seen this mentioned elsewhere but I’ve never tried it. I’m working on losing some baby weight (baby’s 3 but whos’ counting) and this would be tons of fun when I’m in need of new clothes!

  46. 256

I have never tried this but I would love to give it a shot!! I NEVER go out to get clothes b/c I hate trying them on in the dressing room….that and hauling 4 kids who don’t like to shop!!!

  49. 264

    Kristen says

I have had 2 fixes and I love it! I agree, there are always items I love that I never would have tried on at a store. I love the items I’ve gotten and it’s helped me know what to look for when I am at the mall. And referral credit is awesome! Would love a gift certificate!

  50. 266

    Beth says

I’ve never tried it, but have wanted to since I read your first post! I just had my third child 3 months ago, so right now I feel like I’ll never see the inside of a mall again! This would be awesome to win!

  51. 270

    Courtney says

I haven’t tried it yet but I hope to soon! Two small boys make clothes shopping for myself nearly impossible! :)

  52. 271

    Kim says

Love the clothes you got and I understand. I have 2 kiddos and it’s usually grab and go if I am buying anything for myself. Sounds like a great way to try new fashions without the rush of shopping with kids.

  53. 273

    Tracy H says

I’ve never heard of this! It sounds neat though. Shopping with the kids can be hard and never really have time to just go out clothes shopping on my own. Thanks for the giveaway!

  54. 276

Ok wait, so you don’t know what you’re getting every month?? That’s kinda fun!! I want to play :) My husband and two kids just moved to REALLY small town in Missouri. The closest Target is 1.5 hrs away!!!! I know, I can’t believe it either!!! So my clothing will be bought online from now on. Would live to try this!!

  55. 281

I have just begun trying StitchFix and I feel very similar. I love it and its really my only source for clothes at the moment. Great fun! Glad you’ve had such great luck with it!!

  57. 285

    Mary Beth says

Wow!! I love this idea. I haven’t tried it before, but I think I will be signing up soon. And referring my sister. She is a mom to 5, 3, and 1. And she does all her shopping right before the stores close after the kids are tucked in bed. There are so many cute pieces that I wouldn’t even know which store to go in to find them. Great service. Can’t wait to get “fixed”

  58. 286

    Emily says

I haven’t tried stitch fix, but I should! I am an Air Force wife who recently moved to a small town and don’t know how to find the time to drive to another city to clothes shop with my one year old twins! This would be the perfect solution! :)

  59. 290

    April says

Pick me! Pick me……PUHLEEEEEZE!!! I’m a stay at home mom of two littles. I feel so very frumpy and so not “with-it”!!! I need a styling intervention!

  60. 291

    Ann W says

WOW you look great . . . how do you keep looking so great after 3 kids?!?! Your husband must know he is pretty lucky!! I am so excited you get to go to Hawaii! This morning I remembered that Rita Joy from www,harbourbreezehome.com went to Hawaii in April. She did a great job in telling what all she took with her and what she was glad she did take along and such. Also she posted a lot about what all they went to see. Thought it might be helpful:) HAVE FUN!!! I think it is WONDERFUL that you guys get to go!!!

  61. 295

We will be traveling to bring home our 4th child soon, so the mall will be out of the question — this sounds like a great idea!
