Anchored in Life {The Vintage Pearl Giveaway}

UPDATE: Katherine (comment #306) and Sara (comment #128) have been randomly selected as winners of this giveaway.

Our family went to the beach more this summer than any other I can remember.

The closest beach is Galveston, so clearly, we aren’t picky about crystal clear waters or seaweed.

We took our visiting nephews a couple of times, had a little summer staycation with the kids exploring the island. Then in early August, Terrell and I did this:

What God didn’t give Galveston, he bestowed to Maui times a thousand.

In the past, the beach has been a hot, sandy place that I could take or leave, but that’s changed for me. It holds precious memories with family and a once-in-a-lifetime escape with my husband of almost 19 years.

anchor of hope

It also served a brief respite from a very difficult year so far. We’ve had a lot of loss and the time together served as an anchor for us, a place to be refreshed and renewed.

I’ve used all my trial-sized Mango shampoos and coconut lotion and all I have left of the summer and the beach is what I can remember. That’s why I ordered this new necklace from The Vintage Pearl. This little seahorse represents strength, strength for the hard days behind me and the ones ahead.little silver seahorse

I love the new pieces from The Vintage Pearl (like these cute sports charms and these GORGEOUS new vintage lockets), to these beautiful beach ones that make me want to pause and breath deep and not forget the treasure of summer I want to always remember:

  2. Gay Taunton says

Oh the ocean!! We lived on the Gulf of Alaska and grew up on the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Each are magical places. The anchor would be very special as a sea icon and as having God as my anchor.

Wow…just found your blog via Modern Mrs. Darcy, via Camp Patton :0)
I’m looking forward to reading more from you!

I would get the little “carefree” bluebird necklace :0)

What a difficult decision! I love pretty much everything on that site! I also absolutely love your blog!!! I love how real you are about the tough things in life and how you find your strength in the Lord. It is so encouraging to me! Thank you for this giveaway! If I had to choose, I would pick either the Dainty Drops necklace or A Cup of Love necklace.

  5. Maria says

Thank you for sharing your ups and downs of the summer. I’ve been keeping up with you regularly. You give courage to those who do don’t necessarily share the same struggles that you do, but who carry the same emotions. This website is very cute! I believe that I actually have three favorites and not just one! The Pearl Nest Ring, “I love you to the Moon and back”, and the “Anchor of Hope”. They are so fun that I couldn’t pick just one! Haha.

  6. Kelli says

I have eyed their jewelry before and there are so many gorgeous and meaningful pieces to choose from. I really like the necklace that says “Grateful” and all of the mommy necklaces are so sweet!

  9. Kim says

Kristen- I too am a beach lover and spent a week in Destin, FL this summer. There is something incredible about walking the white sand beach, gazing at the endless ocean and hearing the birds of the beach sing with joy! It reminded me so clearly, “how great is our God”! I am in the midst of a challenging season and my week in Destin was just what I needed. While in Destin I made the decision to get an anchor tattooed on the top of my left foot to help remind me that “we have this hope as an anchor for our soul, firm and secure”. I love it and I’m so glad I got it (although never again on the top of the foot…OUCH)
I pray as you wear your seahorse necklace it reminds you of the strength that God gives you daily to do His work!

  10. Gretchen says

My favorite is the anchor. I am a Delta Gamma and that is one of our symbols, but also it reminds me of my true anchor Jesus Christ.

  17. Nancy says

“you’re whooooo I love” is one of my favs. Truthfully I almost did “eenie-meenie-minie-moe” so that I could choose one. They are all beautiful! I love anything that celebrates love and family.

  18. says

I don’t know how anyone in their right mind could just choose one thing. My favorites though would have to be the anchor or the layer of love…. hard to tell!

  19. says

My favorite necklace is the Anchor of Hope! my husband is a US Navy sailor and I’ve written a WWII novel about a gal and a sailor and a lot of jitterbug. girlinthejitterbugdress.com. In fact, he gives her a necklace VERY similar to this one in the novel.

  20. Elsa says

Thank you for your transparency and your encouragement, Kristen! New to your blog and like what I see : )
I like the double circle with kids’ names and the pearl.

  24. says

Oh, my–what *don’t* I like? I keep thinking of the “Mom” necklace (The word Mom written out in silver, with a pearl) but I don’t see it currently on their site. But I also love several necklace designs shown in their “unique” category…Bold Love, Rustic Cross, Carefree, He Loves Me…so many lovely pieces!

  25. Ashli C says

I love so many, but I really want the God Gave Me You or the You Grew In My Heart…we are in the process of adopting!!!

  26. says

I’m leaning toward the Anchor! I’m not a big “let’s decorate with a sea/beach theme” but I love remembering that I need to stay anchored in the Word. Anchored by God’s love and MERCY.
    Thanks!

  27. Briana says

My family and I are learning sign language together, as myself and my dad are losing our hearing for different reasons.

I would love the two-part sign language “i love you” charm necklace, with my family members names on it. I would never take it off! :)

  28. Genevieve Green says

Hi! I love the seashell with the pearl. If I win, I’m going to buy it for my friend. She and I had a blast celebrating the last day of summer with our kiddos at the beach in CA.

  29. says

I have a lovely initial necklace from them that I almost never take off. I LOVE the anchor one – we moved to the Seattle area a year ago and I have really come to love the coast!
