We are THAT Family

I agree completely with everything. It is hard when you are a single parent. I was married but I had all the responsibility of raising my son. I would give in to him as he almost died at birth and then when his father and I divorced, I was overcompensating.
We as parents do the best that we can. At some point, I did the tough love and he is a better person because of it now. He is learning that because he complains or hints around that he will get his way as it does not work anymore. There is no more guilt on my part.
I am 62 yrs old now and have to think of myself and the years that I have left as stress free as possible. My son is 35 yrs old now and he will be a father soon. I just hope that he will raise his child differently, we can only hope for the best but in the end it will be and his girlfriend’s decision. Everyone is different in their opinions on how best to go about it.
