If I Could Whisper One Thing In Your Ear…

This would be it.

I struggle with publishing a 3 minute video of me on my own blog. Ick.  I need you to lean in and listen…because  if you’re a mom, you need to know you’re not alone:

I always love it when a favorite blogger posts a video so I can put a “voice” to the words! Thanks for sharing your (and ultimately God’s!) heart and a bit of yourself everyday – here and now through your book! Can’t wait to read it!

It’s hard to remember that we aren’t alone. I’ve been feeling very alone in my journey lately, and I think I am looking in all the wrong places for someone to walk with me.

I love your voice. So beautiful and soft spoken. :)

Kristen – this is great! I look forward to getting your book. And, you look amazing! It’s so good to “see” you after all of these years. And you haven’t aged!! Would love to see you sometime when we get moved back to Texas. Great job on the video.

Kristen, I found your video so refreshing. It’s the first time I’ve heard your soothing voice. Calm, soothing. I loved what you said and I’m so excited for you and your new book!

great great video, and i was already sold on the book! this just makes you want to go buy a dozen for all your mom friends! (and ditto to all the other comments, you look so beautiful and chilled out in the video even though you said youd be nervous)

hmmm. so this is my 3rd time to post this comment. and my last, even if it doesn’t show up. (ha, now watch them all show up at once!)

i’ve loved watching as the Lord has fulfilled and changed your dreams. wow.

aaaaaaaand can we go get a big Chick-fil-a glass of sweet tea together sometime? (you know, after I’m back in the country and all…) I crave one every time i come to your blog. You have been such a blessing and an encouragement to me. Love you! :)

This message needs to be heard “you are not alone.” I think we so often feel alone, because we think others have it all together, when that’s not always true!

Thank you for sharing your heart with us.

I loved the video and the message! Its nice to see you in your element and see your family in action! I am going to amazon right now! to buy your book for me, my sisters, mom, and a baby shower gift for a new mom expecting twins. I love everything about the book. Especially how you blog with honest, integrity, and to show glory to our God!

    Kristen,
I am so proud of you and so happy for you to have your dreams come true and be able to write this book. I truly enjoy listening to you speak and I love hearing your advice for us other moms. I am so glad to have gotten the chance to meet you and look forward to seeing God continually bless you from here on out.

(I read your earlier blog about how you feel in our ladies bible study… I think you fit in perfectly and I love having you there) :O)

I couldn’t help but notice the Family Rules plaque in your video. Where did you get it, or did you make it, and what are all the rules on it? I love that idea for my home!! Your video was great and inspiring — thanx!

I actually starting tearing up watching your video. I am the mom you are talking to. I got your book this week and read through the whole thing in a day. I’ve always enjoyed your humor but wasn’t expecting what I read. It spoke to me at the exact time that I needed it. I needed to hear the whisper in my ear that I’m not alone. What hit me over the head was when you wrote, “…remember that motherhood isn’t defined by a single act or one bad day. It’s cumulative: it’s a thousand hugs, a thousand apologies and a thousand times you are there for your kids.” I’m sure when I reread your book something else will hit me over the head!
Thank you for your book and the video.

A sweet, humble message that spoke right to me today… after a knock down drag out with my almost 11 yr old, all before school this morning I felt like you were my friend, encouraging me. I know the video was about your book, and it was very well done, but God used you to encourage me. Heb. 10:24 Thank you Kristen.

Can’t wait to read your book and send it to my sisters. It’s so easy to feel alone. Thanks for the reminder that I’ll never be alone!

Kristin- you’re beautiful! I loved seeing you “alive” instead of in a still photo and hearing your voice! I can’t wait to get your book. :)

I have followed your blog for awhile now. It never fails to make me laugh, cry or feel convicted. Usually the latter. I don’t think that I have ever commented before but this really struck a nerve with me.
We have 6 children. From 14 down to 2. And a great-grandmother who lives with us. Who is now on hospice and requires 24 hour care.
I am that mother that feels isolated. That feels alone. More often than not. My friends and husband encourage me but this was what I needed to hear at this very moment.
    Thank you so much!

Oh, I love this, Kristen. Not only do you have such a beautiful, gentle spirit – your book truly is amazingly deep and funny. I am definitely laughing my way through (and crying too). I bought one for me & one to give to a friend. I love what you said about God changing your dreams in the midst of fulfilling this one. I see that happening with me too … and it’s a Psalm 37 moment for me – finding the desires of my heart weren’t what I thought they were at all. God is defining those, as I’m finding myself more delighted in Him. Blessings to you!

  18. says

Not ick. YOU are Beautiful! And your heart is lovely. And I can’t wait to read your book. The enemy convinces us to isolate ourselves so that we feel alone. We aren’t. This is an important message you are sharing!

You’re so pretty! And your voice is beautiful!

My sister in law and I talk a lot about how Satan wants us to feel alone and like there’s something wrong with us for feeling the way we feel. That’s why we need to TALK to each other about REAL things! :) Thanks for posting this!

AWESOME! really looking forward to getting the book. what awesome reassurance that we are not alone in the things we struggle with and through every day. i just adore your heart and sweet spirit.

This is so sweet and I love to “see” the blog writers so when I read the writings I can ‘see’ the face and remember who you all are. Good job.

Kristen, You are just cuter than cute!
I LOVED hearig your voice, altho I did for some reason expect a bit more of a southern accent. :-)
What you are doing and how you are living out God’s leading in your life is a beautiful journey and I am so grateful that you are sharing it with so many of us.
Your beauty radiates the Father’s love!

  23. says

I loved you when I quietly read here and you made me laugh…
I loved you deep when you went to Africa and you made me weep.
But now? I think I love you the most right now, Kirsten Welch….
So humble and real and tender and wise and courageous….
And when you said: “I didn’t know that in making my dreams come true, God would change my dreams…” everything blurred all heart liquid for me.
I love the God-sized dreams He’s put in you…. dreams for the whole world and Him — and you invite us into living out His dreams for His children too.

Your book is making me laugh and it’s making me kneel and it’s making me love.
I can think of no higher compliment.

    You are a gift…

    All’s grace,
    Ann Voskamp

I just want to tell you that your book is great. I bought it for my kindle tonight and have already ready about half of it. It is wonderful and really speaks to me. I see so much of my life in your words. I hope that I can be a better mother to my children and lead them down the right path.

    Thank you.
