An actual conversation that occurred in my minivan a few days ago:
“Honey, why are your dirty socks still in the car? I asked you yesterday to take them inside,” I asked my daughter (in my mother tone) on our way to eat dinner at a friend’s house.
“I’m sorry, Mom. I’ll take care of them.” [PAUSE.]
“But why is your bottle of stool softeners still on the floor of the van? I asked you yesterday to take them inside,” she asked in the same tone, pointing to the bottle that had rolled out of my purse.
We laughed and laughed. And laughed some more.

hehe, my kids do the same thing to me. One day my 6 year old, who does chores, said that I NEVER do anything around the house. So now when she gets home from school I often list everything I have done so she knows. She still giggles every time.
But Momma says
LOL….awww so she has your sense of humor! I love it. Can't wait to read her blog one day!!
Audrey at Barking Mad says
Um yeah, I'm still laughing…
And once I stop laughing, I'm going to make sure all of those things in my purse that I don't want any commentary on, are nicely tucked away, to never escape!

Kuddos to you Mommy for laughing with her. I don't always respond to a quickwitted comment in the heart in which it was given. I sometimes respond defensively. Great Job!!!
p.s. Thanks for your honesty in your blog. π

Just what I needed to hear!!!

Last week my son rolled his eyes when I asked him to do something. Then later…I was talking to my mom and she caught me rolling my eyes when I was telling her about a not so nice "friend". Wonder where he gets it. ;0)
All I can say about the stool softners…better than needing imodium.
Peter and Nancy says
Aahhhhh! Stool softeners remind me of the post-baby days. :o)
Glad you laughed along! It's a real come-uppance when I hear my own words or tone coming back at me from my kids!

I'm laughing. I admit. But only out of sympathy. I visited China once and had some fascinating tummy experiences there. AND I have a smart-aleck for a kid. So I feel you on both points. π

Hilarious! And I tell ya', the little trip to Blissdom was tough on my "constitution"….Africa could do me in.
KK says
LOL, whatever it takes.
Alyssa says
I'm sure I'm going way over the line here, but just wait. I went through the rainbow when I returned from Africa. I have a friend who went not longer after I did, and she did too. So, all I can say is…just wait.

Girl! So is pregnancy!
